Every Letter is a Shape (Katrs burts ir forma) ir vizuāls pētījums par valodas abstrakciju. Šis izdevums apvieno vienkrāsainas melnbaltas kolāžas no projekta, ko māksliniece aizsāka 2020. gada vasarā. Latviešu alfabētā ir 33 burti, no kuriem var veidot tūkstošiem vārdus un stāstus. Zīns sākas ar sākuma izejas punktu – 9 taisnstūru rāmi, ko var aizpildīt vai sadalīt pa diagonāli, lai izveidotu formu/rakstzīmi. Iznākums ir neparedzams, kompozīcijas veido pašas sevi dotajā ietvarā. Mēs zinām, kā lasīt burtu “e” vai “c”, sekojoši - izteikt vārdus un teikumus, bet kā lasīt, kad rakstzīme vai forma nav redzēta pirms tam (?) Šeit atradīsiet jaunus burtus, kas lasāmi vizuāli, redzēt nozīmē lasīt.

Agnese Čemme (1989) ir vizuālā māksliniece, kas dzīvo un strādā Rīgā. Savos darbos izmanto dažādas tehnikas – tekstu, kolāžu, grafiku un keramiku kā metaforu patstāvīgai kustībai cauri informācijas plūsmai. Pēdējo gadu laikā viņas darbos par svarīgu elementu kļuvis siluets, ēna, kas skatītājā izraisa asociāciju virkni starp valodu, tās fonu un attēliem.
Ar vienkāršiem paņēmieniem tiek radīti attēli, kas aicina apšaubīt mūsu pašu uztveri par objektu un tā pieņemto priekšstatu sistēmu.

Every Letter is a Shape is a visual research on the abstraction of language. This zine brings together monochrome black and white collages from an ongoing project that artist started in the summer of 2020. In Latvian alphabet there are 33 letters that can be formed into thousands of words, then stories. The project begins with a curtain starting point – the set of 9 frames that can be filled or divided diagonally to create a shape / character. The outcome is unpredicted, compositions from themselves in the given framework. We know how to read an ‘e’ or ‘c’, to make further words and sentences, but how to read when the character is not seen before (?) Here you will find new letters that pronounces visually, seeing is the reading.

Agnese Čemme (1989) is a visual artist living and working in Riga. Her work includes various techniques - text, collage, printmaking, and ceramics, as a metaphor of the constant movement through the multiple streams of information. In recent years, the silhouette, a shadow, has become an important element in her work, evoking in a viewer a series of associations between image, its background, and multiple ways it can be seen.
Through simple techniques, images are created that invite us to question our own perception of the object and the system of ideas it adopts.
Zine is available in 4 different paper combinations, where the zine cover is Munken pure or Rainbow medium green, the inside pages vary from Munken pure and Cipria. When purchased a zine, the paper choice is not available, so you can't know which one you will have.
All zines are numbered and signed by the artist.
